A Mother's Day Treat
I'd bought this lovely bottle of bubbles to share with Mum, but like for many of us, it was a remote celebration this year. It's a superb sparkler, made just like Champagne by French born Jean-Edouard de Rochebouët. Jean-Edouard helped pioneer 'méthode champenoise' wines from Argentina in the early days of Domaine Chandon in Mendoza.
The De Rochebouet delicate shade of amber and the bubbles are fine. The aroma has hints of white flowers, vanilla, green apple, almonds and freshly baked brioche bread. On the tongue the sensation is round and bold with a light finish. The wine achieves a remarkable balance between structure and refinement.
