Just landed! Superb new wines from Pulenta Esatate
Pulenta Estate lies in the Agrelo region of Mendoza at an altitude of around 980 metres above sea level. We talk a lot about altitude in Argentina, so to put this location into perspective, it's almost as high as Snowdon. That's where the similarity to Wales ends! The Agrelo region receives long hours of sunshine and it's this powerful combination of sunshine and altitude which produces wines with plenty of concentrated ripe fruits and good acidity. The result, is a fresh and well-balanced wine.
Last week we were delighted to welcome Nina Pulenta from Pulenta Estate to Taste Argentina HQ in Shropshire. We tasted through a range of wines, including the La Flor. These wines are all about the fresh, primary fruit. The Sauvignon is elegant and crisp with gentle herbaceous notes, while the Cabernet is full of blackcurrant and cassis, with gentle tannins and juicy acidity. Cabernet can be a tough grape at this price point, but we were seriously impressed.
