Late Harvest Malbec and dark chocolate...
Talk about a show-stopper...I wish I'd captured the reactions to the Susana Balbo Late Harvest Malbec with the Sam Joseph 70% dark chocolate at the Wine Gang's Winter Festival. What a great match, it went down an absolute storm. We just needed more of both! So it's a late harvest Malbec, which simply means the grapes are left to mature and raisin on the vine, producing a naturally sweet Malbec which is just amazing with dark chocolate. It's only 13%, so a lighter alternative to Port. It's definitely one for the Christmas drinks cabinet.

Celebrating the engagement of Sarah and Scott last night so I obviously had to request a photo of the happy couple with my 5 December wine choice. I did let them keep it, but enjoyed a glass myself too 😜 We love this organic sparkler from Familia Zuccardi 🥂
Susana’s Late Harvest Malbec is a naturally sweet red that’s just heaven with chocolate puds. Late Harvest simply means the grapes have been left to raisin on the vine, producing a delicious sweet red which is soft and balanced.
In case I haven’t mentioned it before, I absolutely love this wine! It’s a bit special, so exactly the sort of white you need in your fridge on 25 December. From 50 year old Semillon vines in Patagonia, Matias Riccitelli has produced a stunning Semillon which is rich and complex, a real showcase of what Semillon is capable of.
