These last days have been very stressful and challenging for us at the winery, dealing with many open fronts at the same time, but moving the fastest possible, keeping calm and managing everything by priorities. We are all healthy, both at home and the company. 🍷. We activated immediately a crisis committee, and we decided to manage this situation under the following strategy: taking care of the team, in order to keep the operation active, ready for “the day after”. 🍷. Government declared mandatory social isolation, so we move with permission from home to the winery. There’s no schools, banks or airport, including all land borders closed. 🍷. Office in Maipu and tasting room are obviously closed, so most of the people is doing home-office. The warehouse is working under demand for certain orders, and we are plenty of wine bottled. 🍷. In La Consulta, where we are finishing the harvest, we implemented a very strict sanitary procedures and controls, with daily meetings for the workers and martial rules for all procedures. 🍷. Due to the unusual warm weather conditions, we already harvested 90% of the total production, so all the key products are safe and showing great quality. 🍷. We are doing unbelievable efforts to continue harvesting. As you know, our fruit is 100% hand-harvested, so we are doing magic to get enough cash to pay pickers and temporary workers.
Finally, let me share a nice quote that I read lately: “Imagination is half the disease, tranquility is half of the remedy, and patience is the beginning of the cure”
Stay close, be well, be safe 🙏💪🏼
