With a nod to the Tuscan heritage of the winemaker, this soft and fruity Tinto has a little white wine in the blend, as is the tradition in Tuscany. Adding a touch of white wine can really lift a red wine, and this is cracking example of how well these grapes work together.
The blend is 48% Bonarda, 50% Malbec and 7% Semillon. If you love your reds fresh, aromatic and super silky, this is a great shout. And really good value too!

Altos Las Hormigas is based in Lujan de Cuyo, the first officially recognised appellation in Mendoza and one of the country's premium growing regions for Malbec. Tuscan winemaker, Alberto Antonini, was so impressed by the vineyards here that he persuaded friends from Italy to join in him on a new wine venture in Argentina in 1995. The estate now covers 88 hectares.
