This delicious Criolla, from 80 year old organically farmed vines in Calingasta, is bursting with ripe summer fruit pudding aromas with a dusting violets and roses. Surprisingly firm tannins and serious acidity make for a wine that demands respect and good grub; roast lamb and pork belly work particularly well but anything with a nice fatty flavour is great.

Cara Sur is Sebastian Zuccardi's personal project, which he started with his wife Marce and friends, Nuria and Pancho. With a wealth of experience from his family winery, Familia Zuccardi, Sebastian has developed a range of hand-crafted mountain wines under the Cara Sur brand. The vineyards are located in Barreal in the Calingasta Valley, Province of San Juan at 1,500 metres above sea level; a place that has garnered much interest in recent years as having tremendous potential. The vines are trained in the time-honoured parral system and are over 50 years old. Sebastian is without doubt one of Argentina's leading lights in the industry and his wines show experience with a youthful, innovative twist.
