Malbec Argentino pays tribute to the variety's history in France and its rise in Argentina. Four female figures embody different landmarks in the history of the grape and Catena has brought this to life in this fabulous video http://www.malbecargentino.com/
The 2019 vintage was awarded an incredible 99 points by James Suckling and would make a truly special gift or treat for yourself!
18 months ageing in French oak has produced a wine where the concentrated rich fruits are in perfect harmony with gentle oak character. Tannins are soft and supple.
Malbec Argentino 2019 is drinking now but will age beautifully for the next 15-20 years.
What the critics say...
James Suckling, 99 points: "This is made from over 100-year-old vineyards and offers blackberries with blue fruit and dark chocolate. Shows bark and black truffle undertones, too. The quality of the tannins is more precise and fine."
Wine Advocate Robert Parker, 96 points: "...a little more voluptuous than the wines from Gualtallary, as this mixes grapes from Angelica (Lunlunta) and Nicasia (Altamira). It's nicely textured and tasty, medium-bodied and with a vibrant finish."

"Nicolás Catena Zapata is justly credited with putting Argentinean wines on the world map—by the best expedient of focusing entirely on quality. It's great to know he has started a wine dynasty, too." Jancis Robinson, Financial Times wine journalist We can't really add much more than that! We currently have the Catena Alta and Appellation wines in stock, along with the Bodega CARO wines, which is a joint venture between Catena and Rothschild.
